In a cliffhanger ending, Mr. Burns is shot and the townspeople are suspects. The episode is a parody of the 1980s prime-time soap opera Dallas.
5. Homer’s Odyssey
Homer loses his job at the power plant and begins a personal journey to better himself, but ultimately realizes the importance of his family and returns to his job.
6. Treehouse of Horror V
The annual Halloween episode, features three spine-tingling tales: “The Shinning”, “Time and Punishment” and “Nightmare Cafeteria”.
7. The Simpsons Spin-Off Showcase
A parody of various sitcom spin-offs, including “Chief Wiggum, P.I.”, “The Love-matic Grampa” and “The Simpson Family Smile-Time Variety Hour”.
8. Homer’s Triple Bypass
Homer has a heart attack and undergoes a triple bypass surgery. The episode deals with the serious topic of heart disease and health care.
9. Bart the Daredevil
Bart becomes a daredevil after watching a daredevil stunt show and performs dangerous stunts around Springfield.
10. Cape Feare
Sideshow Bob returns to terrorize the Simpson family, and the episode features a parody of the film Cape Fear and includes a musical number “The Capital City Song”.
