Owen Wilson and Ben Stiller began appearing together in movies in the ’90s.
Wilson and Stiller first collaborated in Stiller’s sophomore directorial feature 1996’s The Cable Guy.
Then they both appeared in the 1998 Jerry Stahl biopic Permanent Midnight. However, two years later, the hit comedy Meet the Parents showed off their natural chemistry together and one of the best comedy duos was born.
While doing the Wired Autocomplete Interview in 2022, Wilson was asked how many movies he’d done with Stiller. “I don’t know,” he replied. “[It] feels like 70.”
Here are our 5 favorites.
1. Zoolander
Wikipedia might call it a “spy comedy” and technically Derrick is a spy, but it’s a story of a man that is just trying to overcome his handicap. He isn’t an ambiturner. We get to watch him grow and spoiler alert we see him finally turn left.
Earth to Matilda Zoolander is streaming on Netflix
2. Starsky and Hutch
Owen and Ben were back at it in 2004 with the remake of the hit ’70s TV show of the same name, Starsky & Hutch. Ben Stiller plays Starsky a straight-laced cop just trying to live up to his mother’s name. The best part of the movie might be Ben Stiller’s perm, but don’t forget about Jason Bateman’s amazingly wispy mustache.

3. Meet the Parents
The movie that showed us how amazing the duo of Owen and Ben would be also showed us that Robert De Niro can be….funny. Robert De Niro played budding poet Jack Byrnes, while Ben played Male Nurse Gaylord Focker.

4. The Royal Tenenbaums
Even though Owen and Ben aren’t in a lot of scenes together in the Royal Tenenbaums. They both bring their unique comedy to one of Wes Anderson’s best movies. The Royal Tenenbaums added a lot to the mystique of the legendary comedy duo.
The Royal Tenenbaums is only available to rent or buy
5. Night at the Musuem
We know it’s a kids movie and definitely more family-friendly than saying something like permanent midnight and to be honest we like Robin Williams and Hank Azaria more than Owen and Ben none less we promised 5 so it made the list.
